Country Treasures is a home grown business nurtured and brought to life in rural Staffordshire which makes 1/12th scale dolls house miniatures. Surrounded by woodland, fields and fresh air you will find Jan, Paul and Laura Brownhill working in their 'mini' studios on the range of dollshouse pieces you see today.
Country Treasures made its first appearance in the 1970's on a small craft stand selling beautifully hand created mice, along with their little pots of food and baskets of fruit. The food creations eventually overtook the little mice and today you will see a show stand full of old Victorian style food types, ranging from jam jars of fruit and veg in preservatives, to rabbits and pheasants on the chopping board. Finally the craft fairs developed and specialized into miniature shows, which is where Country Treasures found itself at the beginning of this exciting expansion into small dolls house crafts.

Janet Brownhill
Ever since she can remember Jan has been designing and creating from her imagination, and taking inspiration from life all around her. As a child she had a try at every craft imaginable, and has never put down the paints and pencils since. Jan has been creating foods and little projects for over 40 years, including warm and inviting winter Christmas windows, old well-loved and well-used sheds, and plentiful pantries.

Paul Brownhill
You will usually find Paul in his workshop cutting and forming copper and other bits of metal to build up ranges, pots and pans. It is known that his work is not just loved by us miniaturists, but also by the small mouse population living outside his workshop who have a tendency to 'borrow' his pot and pans. Maybe they are getting ready for the winter season? Or maybe they just like sitting and laughing at Paul when he's wandering round the workshop looking for the saucepans he's convinced he made the day before!

Laura Brownhill
Laura is the granddaughter of Jan and Paul. Her earliest creative memory is designing tiny miniature cardboard plates with her sister Rosie for the dollshouse. During her time at university Laura began making little butterflies under domes and paint box settings whenever she had the chance. Over the past 6 years she has broadened her range to include food settings, taxidermy displays, entomology cases and other curious items. Laura hopes to continue working with her grandparents for many years and to one day take Country Treasures abroad. Laura also runs the online Etsy shop and the website. You can follow more of Laura's work by visiting her Instagram account.
